Q: What happens if you try to flip a morphed Zoetic Cavern while there is a Blood Moon in play?
A: It can't flip. If it were flipped, Zoetic Cavern would be affected by Blood Moon and get turned into a Mountain with only the intrinsic "tap for red" ability. Hence, it would be revealed to not have a morph ability. Without a morph ability, it cannot flip.
Q: You control a Black Lotus and no other permanents. Can you cast a Frogmite?
A: Yes. When you cast a spell, you determine the mana cost before you have to accrue said mana. Affinity for artifacts reduces the cost of Frogmite from 4 to 3 generic, and is locked in even if the number of artifacts change in the meanwhile. Thus, you can easily use Black Lotus' mana ability to cast Frogmite.
Q: You use a Nissa, Vital Force to animate a Lavaglide Pathway. You then cast Clone targeting the animated land. What does Clone look like?
A: Clone enters as a Lavaglide Pathway that's only a land. The animating effect on the land is not a copyable value. Also, even though the target card is showing its back face, this is irrelevant - copy effects look at whichever face is currently active. While Clone will enter face-up, its face-up will be the land's back-face. As one last note, if some effect turned the Clone face-down, it would not have Riverglide Pathway. The opposite face is not copied.
Q: Can you Fatal Push a Reflection of Kiki-Jiki?
A: Not unless you get the Revolt trigger. The back-side of a transforming DFC has no mana cost associated with it. However, it keeps the mana value of the front-side. Hence, Reflection of Kiki-Jiki has a mana value of 3, not 0.
Q: You control a Nylea, Keen Eyed, an Old-Growth Troll, and a Polukranos, Reborn. Your opponent casts a Unmake targeting Nylea. Your land base consists of two forests and a Nykthos, Shrine to Nix. How can you save Nylea?
A: Tap Nykthos for its second mode, choosing green. You will get seven green mana. You can then spend two life and six of that mana to activate Polukranos' ability and transform. The back side has no mana cost and thus does not contribute to devotion. This will put your devotion to green to four, making Nylea no long a creature and therefore an illegal target for Unmake.
Q: You control an Eldrazi Displacer. Your opponent plays a Painter's Servant, choosing blue. What color if your Eldrazi Displacer? What would happen if the Painter's Servant was played before your Eldrazi Displacer?
A: Eldrazi Displacer is blue in either scenario. Devoid and Painter's Servant's ability are both trying to modify the Displacer's color - namely, Devoid is trying to make it colorless and Painter is trying to make it blue. These are two continuous effects occuring in the same layer (color), therefore we need to consult timestamps. Devoid is a characteristic-defining ability, and is active in all zones at all times, including at the start of the game. Therefore, it will always have an earlier timestamp and apply first - so then Painter's ability always applies last and always appends Blue onto the colorless object. An object is only colorless if it has no colors, so it is only Blue.
